IE not displaying backgrounds

Hi

I have a client that uses Internet Explorer 5.0 with the most recent version
of AOL (and now he has DSL through the local phone company).  His browser
does not show background images for any website.  A friend of his has the
same problem.  I have not been able to figure out what is configured wrong
on his system or why it won't display any backgrounds.

Any ideas?
