Ann, Is the underscore in the real url for the image? I know Windows often treats folders beginning with that character as hidden - not sure if this applies in the browser though - and seems odd if it works in one and not the other. You could also try having the @import in the head of the document and see if that works better. (As done on my Com. Arts site for example if you want to take a look). Two not very helpful suggestions!
