opera problems

I have a site at <http://www.power-glide.com>  The menu at the left contains 
some mouseovers that reveal and hide text below.  Here ismy problem: On NN 
and IE it works as expected, but on Opera it simple prints out the text 
below.  It seems that Opera supports neither the position property nor the 
z-index property.  Is this the case?

PS-I know that the text goes below the screen on NN and IE if the window is 
not maximized.
