Why doesn't W3C validator like nested tables?

This is the previous "Four lines and a question until validation" post. Now the w3c
validator is giving this error message re: nested tables for the page at

Error: element "table" not allowed here; possible cause is an inline element
containing a block-level element 

Other than never again using tables for page layout, what could resolve this?
