I use relative links because
1) I can move the site without editing;
2) I save bandwidth
3) I can proof easily on my machine before uploading the site

I've had ISPs tell me they won't accept sites with absolute links for
internal references because of the bandwidth they hog.

I organize all my styles and images in respective directories that move
with the website.

Also, I tend to use ../ and ./ for my relative directory links when linking
up from a lower directory.

My two cents and please send change.
