how to specify table background in Netscape?

Just noticed... Netscape.... if you specify a background image for the 
table, it repeats that image for every cell...  if the image is 200 pixels 
square and each cell is 50 pixels square, all you ever see is the top 25% 
of the background image...  any ideas of how to fix this?
