I actually haven't found any problems with the way Netscape handled
embedded versus linked style sheets. I think there are many more
advantages to an external style sheet than an embedded one, and I
recommend using external if it fits your needs.

The space shouldn't be used -- by the standard, there's no space allowed.
Internet Explorer may be forgiving, but it's much better to program to
specification whenever possible. That way your code won't go wrong in
programs which do follow the spec religiously.
