Hello all,

I've got a CD that came with a "teach yourself PERL" book. It's got the
ActiveState distribution of PERL on it.

The problem is that, when I install the software on my Win98 machine, the
computer totally dies. When I say "dies", I mean that my machine simply
freezes half way through the boot-up process.

Could anyone possibly suggest what's happening, and how to fix. Could you
please also let me know what versions of PERL you are using on your Win
machines, and from where they can be downloaded.

Thanks!!

Tim

ps. I would prefer not to get an Inbox full of "just don't use Windows"
messages in response to this post.
