question about dates

Hi all:

   I need a date from this format: DD/MM/YYYY. Is there a function or
anything to do this?. I need, for example, that the function Date() gives me
the date in the DD/MM/YYYY format , and if it can't be possible, is there a
way to convert to DD/MM/YYYY format without any string manipulation,i.e
convert to string , swap the DD and MM and then convert back to date?.
