Image swap

I'm a JavaScript newbie, and I'm trying to create an image swap for five
buttons at this test site:

http://www.town.arlington.ma.us/zzztests/inbutest2.htm

The buttons are supposed to switch from oblong to oval and back.

I can get only the last image to approach a swap. The last image breaks in
IE5, but not in NN 4.7.

Can anyone suggest what's wrong? Thanks for any help.
