Hi, List!

I've finally gotten Telnet access and am trying to set up a
password protected folder for a web site. I have created my
.htaccess file and FTP'd it to the web space in that folder in
ASCII format with the file name htaccess.txt and it shows up.
Then when I rename the file to .htaccess, it disappears.

Any ideas of what I am doing incorrectly to make this file
disappear? The web space is on Apache/Linux/Cobalt RAQ and I am
using Windows98SE.
