Tar is a UNIX command and will only work on the server unless you have an
Untar utility to unzipping desktop applications (they are downloadable much
like WinZip)

On the server you would type at the command line:
tar xvfp your_file.tar
where:
x means extract the files
v means output info about the status as being performed
f means use .tar file extension as the source of the files to be unzipped
p means maintain the original permissions
