My company has developed a web application that needs to be able to display
a full character and number set in normal, superscript, and subscript, plus
a few other characters like -, +, and /, etc.

Is anyone aware of a web-friendly font that will meet this need?

If my estimate is right the font would have to provide 26x2=52 alphabet
characters in upper and lower case times 3 to provide normal, super and
subscript sets, which equals 156 characters. Add 3 sets of normal, super
and subscript numerals 0 to 10 and that adds 30 for a total of 186. Add
some other characters and you should be able to get a complete set in one
font.

Thanks - Steve Fisk
