Though I like the concept of Flash and loved it back when it was called
"Futuresplash", it has its own set of cliches and annoyances.

The ludicrously long intros and infamous "loading..." screens are of course
the main culprits.

Like anything, I think Flash is most effective when used in moderation.
Unfortunately, if you go to Yahoo as of today, you'll see an example of
Flash at its worst: a pop-up banner that can't be closed unless you wanted
to disable scripting on your browser.

Still, I can't help but admire the talent of some of these Flash designers.

Some sites I particularly find inspiring are:

http://www.egomedia.com/

http://www.2advanced.com/

http://www.choppingblock.com/

The best resource for learning Flash or getting the skinny about its
effectiveness is:
