I am designing a web page for a customer and it requires me to have a
background image specified in the (parent) table attribute line eg.
background="bg3.gif". This image is behind the full extent of this table.
There are (child) tables embedded within this (parent) table and the result
I am after works perfectly in IE versions, Opera versions and NS6 up so long
as I do not specify a background image on any of the embedded tales.
However, NS4.7 renders this differently in that any background image
specified in the parent attributes is used again by default in all embedded
(child) tables. I can use 'bgcolor' in table cells and it works fine so
long as there is not a 'background' attribute in the parent table.

Why is this so and does anyone have a fix or workaround. Driving me crazy.

thanks.
