Paul,  I consider Meta Tags to be very important.  I take pages in a site
that I consider
are important and keyword them according to the content of that page.
Especially if it
is a shop.  I may have a product or product line on a page, and I will
keyword that page
around that product.  I don't generally put different meta tags on ALL the
pages that are different, just the ones I feel need to be found separately.
