to Google you can get picked up by Yahoo and submitting to DMOZ pretty much
will put elsewhere.

I am fairly new to commercial work, although I have done smaller sites for
years. I have a client that needs to get listed fairly rapidly (he is a
fundraiser organization and his peak business occurs in the fall). His site
is awful now and he wants a brand new design. This can be done but the
design will take awhile. In the meantime he wishes to get his current site
listed. Problem: his entry page is a framed map page (I know, I
know....really bad design) and if I am not mistaken will not get spidered.
What should be his opening page (IMHO) is an inside page now. I want to get
that inside page listed ASAP (then proceed with the new site - which is OK
with client).

My question is which SE's are most relevant, what are the start up and
maintanence costs for submissions and is submission to Google and DMOZ
enough. Does free submission really work? How quickly can either
submission show results.

I know the above rely on proper meta tags and keywords (which has been done)
and links out and in (pending).

If anyone can help shed some light on this please feel free to email me
direct at rwm(at)themckanegroup.com or the list.

Thanks a lot. Just reading this list has been more valuable to me than 80%
of the classes I have taken.
