First, I do not hunt and peck, nor do most of the other subscribers to this
newslist. My typing is not brilliant, but I *do not* hunt and peck.

Second, the topic of this thread was originally "no-margin settings and
validation". It appears that we have moved quite far afield from that
original topic.

Third, if you would check the submission requirements for Yahoo! you would
notice that only *commercial* websites whose developers *DESIRE IMMEDIATE
LISTINGS* are charged a fee of $299 USD per year. This fee guarantees review
within 7 days, but not listing, in Yahoo!.

Google and a variety of other search engines use DMOZ, the open directory
project, for review of submitted URL's. Google also uses a spider, called
Googlebot, to check pages about once a month. You can submit your site to
DMOZ or to Google.

Google , Netscape and Yahoo! are also internet partners, whatever that
means. AOL is now an internet partner of Google as well. It appears that
getting listed on Yahoo! will lead to being listed on Google, eventually.

If you want some valid browser statistics, check Dave Upsdell's site:

It is timely, and very broad in its coverage. It also is a good source for
downloading older browsers.

As for Boeing and NS4, well that's life, a statement about corporate inertia
and an in-house problem . Are there websites being designed for both Boeing
*and* the general public? Do they carry a disclaimure that they work in
obsolete ways because they were designed for obsolete browsers? Does the
Flash on the corporate site work in all the company browsers?

I'm going to bed now. Thanks for forgiving a crusty ex-Wichitan for some
comments about the state of my life.
