Hello Kehvan,
Your friend would be welcome to join the Guild as a hobbyist- it is not for
professionals only. He could sign up for a free trial membership - see
http://www.hwg.org/member/levels.html#trial -- and then if he finds if
valuable, pay dues.

The mailing lists are terrific; the online resources are suffering, in my
view, not from an image problem so much as lack of volunteers.

If you go to the page http://www.hwg.org/resources/?cid=14 and click on the
lnk for introduction to HTML, you will find that the resources on the page
were last reviewed in April 1999. Some are merely outdated. Some of them are
not what they purport to be, such as http://www.stars.com/Tutorial/HTML/
"Stars online" - which despite the 'tutorial/HTMl' in its url, contains no
apparent tutorials, but does prominently display a scantily clad woman.

The HWG could use some help from its members :-)

Regards,

Pam Shorey
