Another plug for EditPlus. Very easy to customize the files that govern tag
insertion, so they now insert <.br> as <.br /> Including those in the built
in toolbar (The "B" button now inserts a "strong" tag.)

Since it includes syntax highlighting for Perl, I can develop my dynamically
generated page project within one environment. Additionally, I have setup
the user toolbar to call HTML Tidy or Perl -w and capture the output from
either to a message window within EditPlus.

As Stuart said, it doesn't have all the buttons and sparkles of HTML Kit or
1stPage, but it is an excellent programming editor.

Anyway, I switched from that to Editplus which is best described as halfway
between notepad and hotdog/homesite and I LOVE it! It is simple and has none
of the window dressing that others have, but has excellent tag colouring for
MySQL and PHP and is very fast and far more stable than either hotdog or
Homesite (In a month of all day every day use, it has not crashed once)
