This applies to PHP too.  I entered Perl and PHP /after/ learning to
hand-code HTML, so perhaps I have a different personal outlook.

Programming is about individuals, and as such will show individual
variations.

But... I think it's a matter of the way you work.  I always though pure
programming people went into the tech stuff too much without really being so
HTML-friendly.  In ASP, you can do nice a clean work too.  So I guess
generally ColdFusion is cleaner because the people that use it want to deal
with the design more, and keep things as tidy as possible, while the ASP
'programmers' are more programmers and want to deliver code that looks very
skillfully programmed.
