Yes it happens in DW3 as well. However, on the DW newsgroup this problem has
only been seen in IE5, not in NS. What usually seems to happen is that you
get the "path not found" message and IE opens another browser window. The
general consensus is that it is an IE problem as opposed to DW.

The usual workaround for it is instead of previewing, open the page in IE
then whenever you want to check save the file and refresh in the browser.
