multi-homed servers (i.e. host your site(s) on two or more servers, possibly
geographically dispersed), where any changes are simultaneously written to
all servers. That way, if one server fails nobody knows (except the admin
folks), .. and you can always recover one from one of the 'clones'.

| I know that it is not my responsibility to back up websites. And there are
backups being performed by the system admin on a regular basis. But I wish
to make my own backups of the websites. Not the backups that he is running.
Ie I dont wish to back up as much as he is. There are only a few sections
that I wish to back up for my peace of mind and as a secondary
| system to the backups that he runs. Its not a requirement of my role, its
just something that I want to do.
|
| I had another response saying why not just make the changes on your local
copy then upload them to the servers, that way you always have an up to date
version. The problem there is that some of the content of the websites is
actually changed on a daily basis at the server level. I dont wish to run
daily backups, only once a week, to grab the sections that have
| changed and thats about all. But as I have so many sites to do this too.
Approx 35 I dont ahve to time to sit here and manually select all the files
for each of them. I was wanting to set up a system where the computer I want
to use as the back up system will dial in, grab the files for each of the
sites, then log out.
|
| I hope this explains what I am wanting to do a little more.

| Shannon
