hi harshdeep

you need something in the main content cell to force it open as wide as
possible

this is the cell which you have given width=100%, although width=90% is
more common (to get a realistic number, choose the biggest display
resolution you want, subtract the fixed column widths, and do the math)

when the liquid cell doesn't have enough in it, netscape tries to "balance"
the column widths, despite the absolute values, e.g. width=50, that you may
have given them

in practice, people don't notice this peccadillo when they use a block of
text like "lorem ipsum" for their main cell
