Text apear with mouseOver

Is there any way to make text appear inside a table using a mouseOver just
as you would make an image appear?

The idea is that when people mouseOver the menu items they get a short
description on an other part of the page.  Of course I know this can be done
with an image of text but I would like real text so it would show on search
engines.
