I would beg to differ. Client side image maps will now work on 97% of
browsers, they are faster than server side maps, and require no complex
coding.

Also if you are going to make your pages accessible to people with
disabilities [as you should as a good HWG member :>)], you will be providing
a textbased link bar in addition to the image map which will work in the
other 3% of browsers.
