When you view source, with Norton running, do you see the code for the GIFs?

It's GOT to be something to do with Norton, I'm betting. I discovered - much
to my chagrin - that all the 125 x 125 pixel images on the corporate site I
maintain were being blocked by Norton's ad-blocking schemes, just because
they were 125 x 125.

One thing you could try: change the code temporarily to make your images a
different size (they're 120 x 90 now, right?), and see if that makes a
difference.
