I dont have my DW3 with me at this site right now, I'll have a look later, 
but I usually find these problems become apparent if I change the <table> 
tag to include "cellspacing=0" and "border=1"   Then you can see what's 
causing the white space.  I think you'll find it's a space or line feed 
being counted as additional space.

For example, you might want to change the table code to:

<TABLE BORDER="0" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="0" etc>
<tr><td>cellstuff</td><td>morecellstuff</td><tr>
<tr><td>stuff</td><td>more stuff</td></tr>
</table>

See if that fixes the problem.
