G'day Christie,
No, usually they install themselves by being dropped into the correct 
folder.

But not always.

I've never been able to see what makes the difference, but sometimes simply 
restarting windows will do the trick, other times you have to use 
Settings>Control Panel>Fonts

But of 3500 copies of my font installed, about 100 have needed to be 
manually installed.
