Miva problem

I have a customer with a 2.2 miva version that has a
code problem sorting within the product categories.
Miva does not want to help me. They say they do not
work on versions before 3.0 and want to sell my
customer an update.
Has anyone else encountered this problem before? 
Does anyone know a good newsgroup that is dedicated to
Miva?
