To the attention of the HWG Webmaster:

Recent "enhancements" have been made to the search capability of the mail
archives, which render it pretty much useless. For example, I recently
submitted a question and got several responses on a message about ASP and
PHP. You cannot query the archives now with more than 1 search word.
Searching on "ASP PHP" yeilds nothing.

The message below is one of many disguntled members on this subject. Can
you please tell us all when the archives will be fixed, or least returned
to there previous operational state.

Regards,
Melanie

I too am disillusioned with the state of searching through the list
archives. In fact, I have written two emails expressing my displeasure with
the list archives - one to Gerald Oskoboiny, and another to a general HWG
email address - neither inquiry ever received a reply.

To be perfectly honest, the list archive was the reason I joined the HWG to
begin with. For years I used the list archive with great success to find
answers to even my most obscure queries. Now, it is an exercise in futility
to try and find anything through the new search utility.

Today, I find myself using the HWG, and their list archives, less and less.
I feel the HWG has essentially devalued one of its core competencies.
