Some of the problems are caused by omitting border="0" in the tag: <table background="light.gif"
summary="" width="600" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" align="center">. If you
include border="0" the vertical space seen in Netscape will disappear.

The section 
<tr>
<td colspan="2"></td>
</tr>

should be omitted to move up the next row of text blocks and nested tables taking
away the horizontal space seen in Netscape.

I haven't figured out how to display coloured frames of the nested tables that
detail the tournaments.
