sending files from forms

Hi all,

Sorry if this is the wrong group, but I wasn't sure where to go with this 
question.

I have a need to send a PDF file when a user selects a check box.

I have been able to use a Perl program to kick up sendmail and send text 
files. However, sending a PDF file shows up as part of the text in the 
email. Is there a way to send the PDF file as an attachment?
