Inserting text from a popup window into a form

Dear list,

Does anyone know how to insert text from a popup window into a form 
field?  A tutorial would be okay too.  I want the user to be able to click 
on a word or phrase in the popup window, i.e. "Hello World!" and the window 
to close and the text "Hello World!' will appear in a form field in the 
main window.
