I'm glad we talked.  

It's a real pleasure to meet people who hold and uphold high standards.  I was never offended by your posts.  

I guess it's because of my NYC-derived thick skin, but I am mostly amused rather than offended when people call my creations annoying.  (And, I do understand that you were not actually doing that, anyway.)  

Thank you for looking at my site and letting me know frankly what you thought of it.  I will work on improving it, especially the performance.  

I think our discussion was constructive; a number of us learned a little bit more about Internet/browser standards and lack thereof, usability and I got the chance to ramble on and on about the good old days.

In terms of user experience, the Internet has a ways to go.  It's great to have a forum like this one in which we can discuss these issues with others who care about them.
