As others have pointed out, the use of a disabled right-click to prevent
image capture is wasted effort. If it shows up in a web page, it can be
captured. It's not worth the effort.

There are methods to add a digital signature to images which may be used to
track images if the owners desires to take the time and expense to track
down image theft, but then again, one must look at the theft and decide if
it's worth the effort. (A polite way of say, is that image *really* that
important? I think not, except with the ego of the owner.)

What many fail to realize with these brute-force attempts to prevent image
theft is that they almost always have the opposite theft. In essence, use
of right-click disabling or other overt failed methods actually challenges
the script kiddies to take the image, just to prove they can do it. The
actual perceived value of the image is irrelevant. It's the ability to
take it, and then tell the owner they just did it, is the importance. It's
also a sign of immaturity, and not just for the thief.

Finally, take a look at sites which attempt image theft in this amateur
manner. Professional quality sites do not resort to immature methods
because they realize the futility of the effort. More importantly, it
would reflect upon them as an owner of the image, as well as the web
developer who put it on a page. It's not quality work. It's not
professional work. Are you sure you want what remains as part of your
reputation?
