I am aware of that - as are all publicly available archives on the Web for 
other lists that have their archives posted.  I probably get more spam than 
most because of my participation and monthly FAQ submissions for over 6 
years now.

Unfortunate as it is, it is the nature of the beast and rather than not 
participate and I've learned to use the tools available to minimize it's 
effect.   The minute I get more than one spam from the same source, I set 
up a filter to trash and never have to deal with them again.  ;-)
