My Client has a large (12 MB) Powerpoint Presentation they would like
to
make available on their web site. ... Is there a better way to make
this presentation accessible to web
viewers?

I appreciate how frustrating it can be when clients insist on have
material on the web in a format that is not intended for the web. I
think it's often best to simply explain to the client the limitations of
the media and then try to present the content in the best way you can.

What I have done in similar situations is to open the ppt and then Save
as Web Page. From the Save As dialogue box, select Publish, which will
give you a few options about what and where the files get saved. Click
the Web Options button to choose things like file format (i.e. png),
navigation colors, and screen size.
After you get the new files and directory uploaded, consider linking to
it using the target="_blank" so that site visitors can simply close the
presentation when it's over and still remain at the website. Otherwise,
visitors will have to Back Button through the whole thing.

There are probably some better solutions and I hope someone points you
to something quick, cheap, and easy. But in any case, this method has
worked for me.

FWIW.
