Keyword effectiveness

I have a client that insists that I use sexual words as keywords on their
site. This client's  site has absolutely nothing to do with sex, but they
think that using sex keywords will give their page more hits. Is this an
effective strategy for getting more hits? Could there be disadvantages in
doing this, such as being banned from some search engines? I want to give
their site the most exposure possible, but wonder about potential downfalls
of this method of promotion. Will their website be ranked lower in relevant
searches if I add sex keywords? Any other feedback on keyword usage in meta
tags is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
