Actually, it wasn't directed towards you specifically. It was more of a "if
the shoe fits..." comment. But, since you bring it up... ;)

I understand exactly what you're saying and I don't necessarly disagree
with that. Trying to get people to upgrade to newer browsers if definitely
a good thing. But alt tags are just for those people that haven't upgraded
or that have images turned off. It's also for the visually impaired and
those that can't afford to get newer machines to run newer software. I'm
sure they would love to upgrade, but not everyone has a surplus of cash
laying around.

All I was saying is that some people just refuset to spend an extra 30
minutes on a web site to make it a little more accessible to those people
that need the extra stuffs(such as alt tags). Maybe there is a better way
to try to convince users to upgrade then using a technique that would
hinder aforementioned people.

Again, my comment wasn't directed towards anyone person and I apologize if
that was misintepreted.
