I did say I'm not getting into the validation debate again. Nor the ADA
one, again. So, no, I will not please explain why this is such a hot button
for me. Or why it is *not*, as is more accurate. You're reading it that
way. Me personally, heart rate and blood pressure remain at normal levels.
I'm not even breathing hard.
I will say, however, that you trying to make me into a bad guy by picking
three words out of my original post--"cranky old people"--and wielding them
at me as anything *more* than the ironic and flippant way in which *I*
meant them constitutes nothing more than attempting to pick a fight. I'm
not up for it. Find someone else to jump.
And, at risk of sounding like one of the curmudgeonly old gents of the
techniques list... I say again, *check the archives* for my opinions on
validation and the ADA. Be sure in particular to find the one that got me
booted out of techniques for a while---the one in which I flamed the jerk
who got a yahoo address for the explicit purpose of posting insulting,
derogatory, and anything *but* ironic mockery of the principles of the ADA,
and so far as I was concerned, the handicapped (disabled, if the h-word
offends your sensibilities) as well. The "friggin idiots" post, that was.
Subject "Up Your ADA". *That*, friend, was name-calling, and he *deserved*
the flaming he got from myself and others. I recommend a bit of compare and
contrast on your part.
mean and nasty summore,

"After a reading of the Starr report I am impressed by the salacious and
voyeuristic nature of your work.... I congratulate you for having opened
the doors of libraries and schools to pornographic literature. Those of
us at Hustler need your assistance in extending the parameters of
pornography to a wide community of adults. You have opened a new era in
promoting explicit sexual materials."
