It wasn't intended to. I was refuting the notion that graphics equals
non-boring. I did this by giving a typical example of a boring page that is
graphics intensive. The point was exactly that content, with or without
graphics, is what makes a page *interesting*.
I do use graphics on my pages. I like graphics on pages I view -- if they
enhance the design or complement the content. Unless the graphics are the
primary content of a page, then the content of the page should be available
without them. I strive to do this on my pages.
