re: Using Images for Links

I think that images are very useful as links.  Sometimes icons can give you
a visual cue as to where the link leads that can be remembered more easily,
is more concise, or is just more attractive than the textual link.

However, (and now I realize my home page doesn't do this) the links should
be repeated, either next to the image or at the bottom of the page, so
people with text-only interfaces can access the links as well.  Also, if
the link doesn't have a border, the user needs that textual link to be able
to tell if s/he has already followed that link.
