java for background

Hi
I was wondering if there is a way to use a Javascript to change a black 
background, into a white one. Im wanting to use it for something like Coming 
in to the light of Jesus, if that helps to make sense.

Also what's the difference when using the p align and the Div align, do they 
do the same thing if both do things differently?
