ALT text (formerly Image Map)

Since I was the originator of the thread; 
I would like to add that it isn't the coding of the
image map.

My browser is not showing any "ALT" text PERIOD.
This just happened suddenly yesterday , I did
everything  imaginable to try to fix it.   No can do.
I just reinstall IE4 SP2 from Microsoft as a last
resort.  Still NO SHOW.

Any other suggestion is most welcome.
