(Stupid) Computer Question

Ok I have a stupid computer question....
For some reason, whenever I call up a page (URL) that "Can't be found"
rather than being shown the "404 Error" page, my computer is just closing
the browser. It just recently started this & to my knowledge I haven't
changed anything. Does anyone know why this is happening & how I fix it?
