Why is this happening to my tables

on the left side i have a cnet technews box that is MEANT to go underneath
the menu image map.
I want 3 columns, 1 with the menumap and news box, one main central column,
and one left with my site's search box.

why is the cnet technews box to the right of the menumap, when it is meant
to be underneath?
I've tried putting line break tags. There must be a table error in the cnet
code that I can't spot!
