web content should be specifically geared to the audience you have. If you are a generic web site, then 8th grade reading level should be assumed (or less). However, if you operate a site for a jet propulsion laboratory and your visitors are Ph.Ds in Physics, I believe your reading level should be much higher. The key is to know your audience and cater to them. Kate Pollara
