XHTMLby "Mike Eovino" <meovino(at)erols.com> |

I don't really have a problem, just wondering what people on the list think about XHTML, now that the spec is being recommended by the W3C. It's great that it's backwards compatible with HTML 4.0, but I still have visitors to my site using V3.x browsers (about 10% of all my page requests last year, smaller percentage toward the end of the year, but still people are using them). I'd love to write specifically for the new browsers, but we're a commercial site, and some of our customers are fairly large. They did not like it when we asked them to download a plugin to run some of our applications (not my idea, and boy did we learn our lesson). I can't imagine asking any of them to abandon their current browsers. Anyway, just wondering what others are planning to do. I'm going to play with it, but if it doesn't degrade well, it might be a while before I put it into production. Mike Eovino Webmaster Estes Express Lines http://www.estes-express.com
