Greetings all.

I'm not sure this question is correct for the HWG basics so let me know. I
took an image done in Paint Shop Pro, converted it first to jpg format as
well as gif. The outcome on the web site was above average but looked
nothing like the original picture. I tried saving it as a bmp only to find
it didn't work in netscape. I tried saving it as a png only to find it
didn't work in IE. The bmp and png formats kept the original picture
looking exactly the way it looked in Paint Shop Pro. I have IE version 5
and Netscape 4.7.

I was under the impression that current browsers supported the png format.
Was I incorrect in the presumption? It comes up fine in netscape. In IE,
it doesn't show the picture, but if you right click on it, it still tells
you the property of it. Is there any way to have the image up on the
website (with the exception of using the jpg or gif format)? I know you can
use multiple fonts if certain browsers can't read them. Is there anything
that'll work for images?

The link for the picture in png format is:
www.geocities.com/ravin_rue/tamgid15.png
When asked to view it in IE, it says "you have chosen to download a file
from this location. If you view it in Netscape it comes up fine. When
viewing the bmp version, it comes up fine in IE but only shows the broken
picture link in netscape. Any ideas from anyone?

Thanks,
